SPREAD THE WORD

Stealth Power was recently invited to participate in Capital Metro’s Project Connect showcase at the South West Transit Association/Texas Transit Association 2022 Joint Annual Conference in Austin, Texas. Representatives from various industries shared their biggest accomplishments in sustainability.

At the event, Shannon Sentell - Stealth Power COO, elaborated upon our successes with Capital Metro. In 2021, Stealth Power partnered with Capital Metro, Austin’s main transit system, to hybridize one of its paratransit vehicles and take one bus stop completely off-grid with our solar-equipped Clean Generator ®. Stealth Power installed its Vehicle Power System, which utilizes automatic stop-start technology to turn the engine off while the vehicle is idling in park, saving Capital Metro on fuel, limiting engine wear, and reducing CO2 output. The VPS also supports onboard electrical loads such as AC, Heat, radios, lights, and doors. In the last six months, Stealth Power’s systems have saved Capital Metro approximately 300 hours of idling, over $1,000 in fuel costs, and prevented nearly 11,000 lbs of CO2 emissions from being emitted.

The SWTA/TTA Joint Annual Conference is the largest public transit conference in the country representing hundreds of providers from eight states in the Southwest. The conference hosts general sessions for the SWTA, speakers and industry leaders from around the region, and over 70 exhibitors and vendors. The conference also offers training and networking opportunities, workshops, the SWTA/TTA annual award presentation, and more. Capital Metro was selected as a local service provider to showcase their Project Connect program that aims to expand service areas and accessibility while improving their infrastructure - all with sustainability top of mind.

Stealth Power was honored to be included in the SWTA/TTA showcase and is excited to continue our partnership with Capital Metro and help provide them with a cleaner, more efficient fleet.
